Southwest Melody

Southwest Melody

written by: Carlos Valle

Mighty rocks of God’s design
Where the eyes may come to dine
Strange formation made of stone
Incantations from the wind

The sun aroused
Has cast itself
Upon the fields
Now bunched with snow
Crystals glitter
Crystals glow
O’er the land
The soft wind blow

In the breath of afternoon
Ghostly maidens made of snow
Pirouette across the fields
Gossamer in rainment white
Across the land they take their flight
Half in fury
Half in fun
To the music of the wind
