Gabriella Balcom writes fantasy, horror, romance, sci-fi, and more, and has had 551 works accepted for publication. She was nominated for the Washington Science Fiction Association's Small Press Award, and Clarendon House Publications awarded her a publishing contract after one of her stories was voted best in a novel; her multi-genre anthology, On the Wings of Ideas, was then released. Gabriella won second place in JayZoMon/Dark Myth Company's 2020 Open Contract Challenge, and they published her romance, Worth Waiting For. Black Hare Press put out her sci-fi novella, The Return, and Dark Myth Publicating released her horror anthology, Down with the Sickness and Other Chilling Tales. She also self-published a novelette.

This wasn’t just a slogan for Governor Bishop DeCulpat. It was a life’s crusade. In his border state, it was his family, his neighbors who’d borne the brunt of the social costs of the flow of migrants across the border. They’d been pushed to a boiling point. Now, it was time for action.

Hearing the signature catchphrase of the campaign, the audience erupted once again, the ovation magnified by the white marble column of the Statehouse rising at the Governor’s back, drowning out The Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Christmas is Coming blaring from the speakers...
