Temptress

A seductive beautiful temptress
Who promised to fulfil my every desire
A demon whispering in the darkness
Aiming to burn me in her fire

She rapped me up in sharp barbed wire
Not cotton wool, no warmth nor love
I wasn’t showered with love and kisses
She was out for blood

I fell in love with her darkness
I guess that’s the way love goes
Danced up close with a devil
Vulnerabilities exposed

Intertwined with a twisted serpent
The bed, her nest, her lair
Men she slept with she consumed
None had hope nor prayer

How did I survive I hear you ask
Why was I the lucky one
I saw her mask slip for a millisecond
The choice either die or run

I know she’s hidden within shadow
A temptress without equal
Will this tale be continued I wonder
Knowing I wouldn’t survive the sequel
