The Assumption

The Assumption

of the Blessed Virgin Mary
on sidewalls, sprawled-
dwarfed under snow peaks
the untold grief.

like Mount Rundle
besides Vermillion Lakes
yielding to colors and aches-
discerning glances, clinging wishes
and leaping choices.
the stripy sunlight
withering over three sisters-
Faith, Charity and Hope.
how else do we get
to that piece of solace
summoning peace?
hear the voice fade
amid broken landscape
by the river Bow
bending into pines.

birthing and dying never enough
until reborn.
