The Dissonance

The Dissonance

written by: Alan David Gould

I think brave thoughts beneath the sky
They circle round to tally ho
The wayward people, westward go
I cannot sift the reason why
but only that they know

For I am in an earthly place
while you have flown to stars above
I cannot call you back again
You see, but from afar, my love
I hope you know my face

I cannot climb your lustrous way
Though I might dazzle at the sun
So must I leave my heart up there
Too far to go, I need be done
To try another day

A waterfall diffused with rain
must have a wash with turbulence
And do you think it feels the pain
of all its watery eloquence
to shimmer once again?

The dissonance amongst the whole
Events that form unlikely ties
Where shadows fill the light of day
I see the quandary in your eyes
The passage of the soul
