The Maid of Orléans

The Maid of Orléans

written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker

“The Maid of Orléans”
Jehanne la Pucelle;
Visions and voices
Of Heaven or Hell?

An unlikely choice to
Lead the military of
France was this girl
Dressed as a man.

Of valor and bravery
She was up for the
Task; to liberate her
Land from the English.

For heresy ultimately
Burned at the stake.
Tho’ called by many
Names from Jehanne

Darc to Jehanne d’Arc;
Universally known as
“The Defender of France”
And canonized patron

Saint Joan of Arc.
