The Observer

The Observer

written by: Ciara

A dream-like scene
It could be described by anything
The waves upon land
A boat floating unmanned
A couple clasping hands

A roar of noise
Stalling my rigid poise
Filling me up with a rude song
To the point where I could not sort
The real from the wrong

So I sat there stonefaced
My spine rattling from the base
Till two pairs of eyes locked
The bond raw and unbroken
Until an object cocked

One pair of eyes tilted and fell
The other’s eyes welled
The finite connection snapped
With a splash of water, a single slap
Bringing me back to the real world, perhaps
