The Scholar’s Ascent

The Scholar’s Ascent

written by: Uzma Afreen

A journey carved in sleepless nights,
Through endless readings and uphill fights.
With tired eyes and a weary soul,
Yet burning bright, the ultimate goal.

Hurdles rise like mountains steep,
Dreams and doubts entwine and creep.
Hope, a candle, flickers still,
Through every setback, bends the will.

Books and papers, a world confined,
Seeking truths that shape the mind.
Each question posed, a bridge to cross,
Each failure met, a lesson’s gloss.

Lonely paths, yet comrades near,
Sharing triumphs, drying tears.
With every “no,” a new dream flies,
The joy of seminars, papers read.

A burst of hope where doubt had fled,
A moment that makes all struggles endure.
A scholar’s life, both hard and kind,
A test of heart, a forge for mind.

But beauty lies in the pursuit’s fire,
In every step toward something higher.
For though it’s tiring, tense, and long,
It writes a story, bold and strong.

So, to the scholar, hold on tight,
The dawn comes after the longest night.
And when the title crowns your name,
The years of struggle won’t feel the same.

“Doctor” they’ll call, with pride you’ll glow,
A lifetime of dreams in that moment will show.
