I look after the story
after my parents wane
honouring their wishes.
My uncle’s story, in that
he stays married to loneliness.
Especially on these sombre days
they stay sitting on their bed.
Loneliness holds the sizzling nozzle
of darkness in her mouth
balancing the heel and the butt
between her legs.
I take care of their continuous deaths
and serial births.
Kushal Poddar has authored ten books, the latest being 'A White Can For The Blind Lane,' and his works have been translated into twelve languages, and he has been a sub-editor of Outlook magazine and the editor of Words Surfacing, and he does some illustrations and sketches for various magazines.
