The Surf

The Surf

written by: Carlos Valle

Unhindered flows the wind
Across the jade green sea
Whose alabaster fingertips
Caress her lost domain

Where foam salt-bubbles slide
Across the mirror sand
And sun creates a fairyland
Of effervescent mist

Here in afternoon’s demise
The shadows of the gulls
Slip across the ochre sand
And quickly pass unto the north

The sea then turns to silver
The wind begins to roar
And sunset pours its colors
Down deep into the sea
