The Willow Whispers

The Willow Whispers

written by: Mehwish Tayyab

If dreams could take you far away,
To the desired place, where the leaves sway.

In the swirled wind you hear whispers,
As the long boughs of a willow tree decipher.

The gentle breeze brings a memory, a face,
Yet unknown, it hovers all over the place.

Sitting under the willow’s shade for ages,
Writing unsaid things on torn pages.

Oh, the weightless wind, carry a poem,
Can a restless heart bring him home?

The willow whispers of silence and whim,
The unsaid words too, until it finds him.
