Time, a poem by Toyer Fahie at Spillwords.com

Time

Time

written by: Toyer Fahie

The wonder of time proves endless
Where is the beginning
Is there even an end?
The grains in the glass of time
Consist of one hour
But are we sure;
The curvature of the glass
Is made of sand but do we count
That to – or against time.
Time slips us but it never falls
Can time be captured
In the mind and archived
Can we master the elements of time
How strong and wide do our hands
Have to be to hold time
Will it slip through our nervous fingers
And be wasted
Or will it morph into
Waves in the ocean that crash on the
sandy shore
Does time fly by on the wings of hummingbirds
Who cleverly and quickly dance to the
Private orchestras of their own hum
What can we do with all the time
That we have
Should we fulfil dreams and promises
Should we seek forgiveness
Should we seek salvation
Live in; and only for this moment
Lest death’s cold hands strangle us
Leaving all things until next time.
