Time to Change

You were born,
And you were small
You didn’t differentiate,
Whether fair, dark, small, or tall.
One day you grew up,
The world changed your mind.
You began differentiating,
You were never kind.
You laughed & you mocked,
Made people feel inferior.
Knowingly each time,
You were the reason behind their tears.
You felt good about yourself,
Even sensed pride.
The ones who praised you for this,
They only lied.
Your heart knows you’re wrong,
It’s not too late to mend your ways,
For once forget the crowd,
Do what your heart says.
It’s also not late,
To change your story,
You can make a huge difference,
With love and a simple sorry!
Varun Anand Bhat is currently pursuing his Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication. Along with his studies, Varun also works as a journalist and has bylines on some of the most reputed media houses around the world. When Varun was a young kid, his parents, especially his mother, introduced him to books and built the habit of reading. This habit he got from his mother became a major part of his life as Varun decided at a young age he wanted to become a writer. While Varun appreciates many writers, his favorite writers are Ruskin Bond and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Through his work in writing and journalism, Varun hopes to contribute to the growth of literature in his country India, and around the world. When Varun is not reading or writing, you can find him spending time with family and friends, watching his favorite sports, and also completing his college assignments.
