To My Past and Future

To My Past and Future

The unfortunate thing is –
You’ll find pieces of yourself
Scattered throughout all I ever was
And within all I’ll ever become.

The distance never meant
The love had gone away.
Miles could never dictate
How deep blood and bones run.
But –
the farther you travel
with an open wound,
The more blood you’ll lose.
And it seems –
the soul runs deeper
than flesh and blood anyways.

There has never been a place in time,
where I didn’t love you.
You are intertwined into my inner being.
But love doesn’t outweigh judgment.
It’s subjective in its very nature.
That’s why your love hurts,
It rots and decays.
While my love lingers and longs
For a reality- where both of us exist
On the other side of eternity.

The distance between us was inevitable.
Birth doesn’t constitute abuse.
In the same way-
Real love doesn’t constitute ignorance.
Love endures until the end,
it was mended into the beginning – of everything
with my Heavenly Father – my dearest friend.
