Today I Am

This day, today, if some what gray,
I heard a voice and someone say,
what if you had, what could have been?
Somehow, someway, and may I say
you would have had a better day.
You should have, would have had your way.
You’ve wasted years, a lot of time
to be, to do, it’s now too late.
Do I believe this, nay I say.
I have, I will, I am today
a better person I can say.
Stronger, smarter for the wait
time has had a role to play.
For I am better and dare I say.
Much have I learned along the way
I have arrived, I’m here to stay.
