Unchosen Light

Unchosen Light

written by: Yesmine Lagras

If I were the moon,
would you still turn your face
toward the scattered stars,
those distant suns who never learned to stay?
If I gave you every phase of me,
would you still search the heavens
for brighter, easier loves?
Or would you rest here,
where my light isn’t much,
and let the stars be simply stars?
