Unveiling Prague

Unveiling Prague

written by: Mihaela Melnic

Pigeons know better than us
the secrets of Prague.
Up to the niche in the astronomical tower
one of them leads us for a view of the sun
that comes and goes at its whims
like a Cupid meeting Psyche
or a serpent creeping lightly through the sands.
There were timeless graffiti and arabesques on the walls and the glory of a lancet showing noon… or North…
The windows had traces of tearful clouds and of ice flowers that spoke.
Halt!
A moment of silence to take in the sounds and visions of past and present times.
It’s a mother-and-daughter journey;
a collection of powder feathers and memories along the path of life.
