Verse vs Prose

It’s rare, scarce, yet
Difficult to describe;
What it is that makes
Words come alive and
Effectively alter lives in
The process; speaking
To our emotions and
Our intellect as Verse
Strives intently to find
Reason within rhyme,
Rescue survivors one
Word, one poem, at a
Time. Although, this
Verse has had its fair
Share of ridicule and
Abuse over the years.
Well, let me be clear
And then let us agree
On some sort of truce
And search to discover
Truth regardless of our
Petty prejudices, false
Notions, induced by the
Literati aloof who have
Placed a partition, this
Chasm, between Verse
Versus Prose, whereas
There needn’t be one
As it all come down to
Preference, what agrees
With one’s literary palate
Most; both may live in
Harmony and coexist.
