When You Talk About My Dash

When You Talk About My Dash

written by: Marie Johnson-Ladson

When we start life and end life are very essential dates
But
How we lived the Dash in between these dates is the most important

I wasn’t perfect but I tried my best

So when you talk about my Dash when I leave this life
Remember what I liked
Remember how I lived
Remember places I visited
Remember things I said
Remember the times we shared

Remember I loved to celebrate
Remember I had compassion for others
Remember I was thankful
Remember I showed up when needed
Remember that I loved you and I know you loved me

When you talk about my Dash
Embrace the memories I left you
And
Work on your dash while you are still here
By living your most authentic life!
