Winter’s Tyranny

 Winter’s Tyranny

written by: Charlie Bottle

Winter’s tyrants sear our souls,
effusing time’s river with toxic emotions,
their effluent, poisons our drinking souls,
which, in savored delight, drinks the moments.

When will Winter’s tyranny end?
ask our souls, now dormant oaks,
swept by unrelenting winter winds,
and encased in hard, unforgiving ice,

In brumal pride, conceited rage,
and mighty prejudice, as cold as ice,
its grip grows harder and colder until,
traversing time, turns the torpid tide.

When evil runs its course,
then a joyous Spring rain,
will bring Love’s warmth to the roots again,
causing Mercy’s buds, to blossom and bloom.

The changing season banishes, winter’s fools,
and Spring’s Love, will send glazed winter flowing,
and renew once more,
its emerald Love, from shore to shore.

Compassion is the wide blue sky,
enduring the season’s dramas,
of the varying vistas that may grace its face,
yet, high above the storms, the sky is always blue.
