Words I see and feel and hear
Words that break and Words that heal
Words I fear, for they burn my heart, as if it were cut by a sword and later thrown into the flames
The words I see
Terrorise my dreams
News on Palestine,
the Palestinian people and their destroyed homes, killed loved ones, lost dreams, and pained souls.
Words I have to read to gain knowledge
that into my brain, I need to retain
Ones I have to read no matter how tired, upset, or done with life I feel
Articles, and more articles, I have seen
Words written on paper and ones I see on screen, from loved ones and ones I never wish to see again
Words that exhaust my energy and sense of calm and peace.
Yet, I still love the written word, the spoken word, the thought word, the felt word, the misunderstood word
They make life what it is, what it means
They’re Pivotal to a human’s sense of self and self-esteem
And Detrimental to a human’s past, present, and future – destructive if they’re evil.
We’ve got to love the Words that vibrate in our minds and souls and through our mouths to be carried as waves through the air around us
Surrounding us and everyone else
Defining what the simplest thing about a day means.
