You Can’t Ignore “The Scream”

You Can’t Ignore “The Scream”

written by: Jane Bradshaw

The Scream – a ricochet
Of powerful demons
Trapped in a moment of time
I could feel the sound waves
Trace them with my fingertips
Produce great artistry
With the colours they engendered

The Scream – a cry for help
Thrown to the heavens
With forceful abandon
So loud my ears ring
I have to cover them
To stop the torments
From finding their way back in

The Scream – much more than once
Leaving me with such force
My voice now silenced
I feel strangely empty
As pain and anger
Twirl away through the darkness
Leaving room for a tiny spark of light
