The Power of Self-Worth

The Power of Self-Worth

written by: Jane Bradshaw

As time ticks by,
And I have to warn you
The tick gets quicker and louder
The older you get

As time ticks by
You start to realise
That other people’s opinion
Matters less and less to you

As time ticks by
All those little things
That new dress, make-up, shoes
A shiny new car – you realise they don’t matter

As time ticks by
You stop beating yourself up
And craving forgiveness
From all you’ve encountered

As time ticks by
The years begin to impart
Their wisdom, peace and transparency
And you finally begin to realise

As time ticks by
You reach the pinnacle
And you realise the only
One who needs to forgive you is you
