A Different God

A Different God

written by: Fathima Ruhi Amisa

Giggles twirling around a child,
Their hue lighting in bloom,
By his side, torn sheets were piled,
Today, mommy said, “No gloom.”

Stars in eyes, clay in his hands,
A god of different kind,
Earth moving under his gaze with no remand,
Its legs swaying in newborn pride, alive.

The child’s lips moved in glee, “Welcome!
My red room is now your homeland,
I create with my thumb,
Your fate is already planned.”
