Your Journey is Doomed

Your Journey is Doomed

written by: Aliyu Yakubu

You know your journey
Is doomed
When you see the compass
Directing your way
Leaving the path
And straying into the bush.

You know your voyage
Is doomed
When you see the beacon
That has been flashing light
To guide the sailing ships
Die slowly
Till darkness envelopes
The entire landscape.

You know your homestead
Is in ruins
When you see elders
Shedding the garments
Of truth and donning those of falsehood
They have been bitten
By the prejudice bug
You know your journey is doomed.
