Homeless

Homeless

It’s not a home I remember,
More like a torture chamber-
Feelings buried deep can’t disappear,
I can’t always fight my fear
Of being stuck in a place,
Without an escape;
Wondering if I’ll ever belong,
In a home for which I long-
Unable to express how I feel,
I’ll let my sorrow reveal
The truth behind this shaking land,
On which I stand;
Where to go from here?
To complain; I don’t dare;
Unable to recall a time,
When speaking wasn’t a crime,
If the word ‘freedom’ sounds foreign,
How far have I fallen?
