Broken Heart

She was a dreamer,
until he let her down,
he, an expert in drawing lines blurry and unclear,
she broke a heart to get him,
yet he played her,
saying he wants her,
then cutting her down,
out of the blue.
And after all,
in the end,
we were just humans,
drunk on the idea,
that love can heal our broken hearts,
which was of course,
nothing but a misconception.
Shri is a medical student based in Georgia who also loves to write poetry in her pastime. Her poems are based on nature and feelings.
