Natural Won

Natural Won

I used to admire women who didn’t wear makeup. So natural, so confident! But I always wore sparkling lip gloss, blush, eyeliner, mascara, and under eye concealer. I never took to foundation, but when my sister shot my author photo I used face powder. It was a good hair day and the photos were beautiful. But afterwards I went back to my normal routine.

Little by little I shed my makeup. First went the under eye concealer. Then the blush and lip gloss. After my mascara began to irritate my eyes, it had to go, too. I was down to eyeliner when the pandemic hit. I stopped using it most of the time, with remote work and a limited social life. When my office reopened, I thought about wearing eyeliner. But natural won.
