Even the Moon has a Dark Side

The bomb that’s ticking inside my ribs,
never lets the veil of my eyes close.

With the dawn of the truth that is darkness,
the ghosts of my hopes leave my body.

In the silence of the ever-dying seconds,
my ears hear the whispers of my sorrow.

I suffocate in the air filled with despair,
as I am struck in the prison of the past.

Even the warmth of a million wine kegs,
cannot fight the coldness of my life.

There’s a candle and a match lying around,
What if I burn myself, I am not one to take chances.

I am wary of the villagers who sound kind,
as I know that even the moon has a dark side.
