Night is a Ghost

Night is a Ghost

written by: Mihaela Melnic

The bleak Red Sea hurls turquoise fish into the abyss
for a slumber with monsters and crimson corals;
tremulous limbs and stony voices grow,

they sing lullabies for the lost
in this jasmin night which is a ghost
who longs for peace
underneath nocturnal palms that sing requiems
for those poisoned by the majestic lionfish; a reminder of betrayal.

Unbriddled, seahorses bow at my feet after parading for the sensual full moon.
O, foamy waves teeming with spirits, engulf my ancient heart, my restless soul that cries out for rebirth.
