War as Wealth

War as Wealth

written by: Kt Owens

Stars drowned the earth
in their suffocating cage.
They watched with mirth,
things more horrible than rage.

Hatred and screams
swam about them,
like unwanted dreams,
from unloved men.

Old men sending out boys,
Handing children a gun.
Treating soldiers as toys,
Repeating history for fun.

Do not think of the glory.
That is your teenage son.
He will be only a story,
When the war is done.
