Untethered

for Amy
you are an untamed star
an untethered tempest
pulsing in the dark
you fly across the void
invisible eagle’s wings
beneath your ribs
every feather a spark
and
while the hydra’s jaws
gnash at emptiness
you sing sky into being
wild, raw, relentless
you are the unwritten dawn.
