Blind

Blind

written by: T.E. Maltba

Unheeding tetherball severed in orbit
A rogue globe accelerating toward nearby fire
Warm jive of mortal radians
Illuminated, but ultimately scorched

Blackout—final whispers magnetic
The coronal mass ejection
Glow extinguished, short-circuited
There’s a smoky cloud as a cloak

Does it mask the truth?
Web of stagnant blood-red rivers
And charred iris underneath
Listen—silence
