It’s Not About You

It’s Not About You

Everybody wants to be heard.
Everybody wants to be right.
Everybody wants to prove somebody else to be wrong all the time.
These are the reasons why we fight,
and these are the reasons why things have gone up in smoke time after time.

Ego wants this.
Ego wants that.
The ego wants to oppress other individuals.
Ego is the reason why we fight,
and ego is the reason why many lives are defined by the eternal night.

We want to be heard.
We want to be right.
We want to prove the others to be wrong all the time.
The narrow-minded sects and the private clubs are the reasons why we fight,
and they are the reasons why the atmosphere feels to be so uptight.

Loosen up! Let it go!
If a warmonger can love a pacifist,
and if a pacifist can admit that sometimes violent acts are needed to
secure the innocence of the weak and the vulnerable
– the children, the elderly, ancient trees, and animals –
then it’s not about you but the common good
and the basic principles dictated by Nature.
