INSURGENT LOVE

written by: Małgorzata Kulisiewicz

translated by: Anna Luberda-Kowal

From generations
to generations,
children of Warsaw,
the elderly today.
Wedding rings forged
from old buckles,
shooting in the street,
while in an old small church
we get married.
The same fire has been burning,
we hand down the memory,
Ariadne’s thread
and the sixty-three days,
which saved us,
relay of saved dreams.

POWSTAŃCZA MIŁOŚĆ

written by: Małgorzata Kulisiewicz

Od pokoleń
do pokoleń,
warszawskie dzieci,
dziś starcy.
Obrączki przekute
ze starych sprzączek,
na ulicy strzelanina,
gdy w starym kościółku
bierzemy ślub.
Ogień od pokoleń pali się tak samo,
przekazujemy pamięć,
nić Ariadny
i te sześćdziesiąt trzy dni,
które nas ocaliły,
sztafeta uratowanych marzeń.
