Swimmers

I’m going sane.
Every choice I am making is a responsible one.
I am disappointing no one but my self.
I feel as if every day is promised so I no longer
Remember to spend each grain of sand like my last.
I no longer chase last minute flights to nowhere.
I will sleep soundly in the same place until once again,
Insanity takes me star gazing past midnight.
For people like me, a floating ship sinks faster.
The shore may be safe, but it’s no place for swimmers.
