Balogun's favourite Nigerian writers are Gabriel Okpara, J.P Clark and Chinua Achebe. Balogun was nominated as part of the top ten best poets in the world in 2019, Ethiopia. He has won honorary lifetime certificates from India, Liberia, Peru, Nigeria, Philippines, America, Germany, Zambia etc. He is the award-winning author of Upon Our Nile.
