A Moment of Blazing Whispers in the Dark

A Moment of Blazing Whispers in the Dark

written by: Walid Boureghda

Lying in bed,
Staring at the ceiling,
The light’s off,
Wholly in the dark.

The air hums with the unspoken,
Each heartbeat echoes louder in the breathing spell.
I feel your presence by my side,
The warmth of your body blows up the space between us.

Your sighs are caressing my ear,
Your lips are spilling my name like a cuddly secret.
And then, you uttered those magical words:
“I love you, more and more.”

Your voice, soothing and blazing,
Lingers like the most genteel touch.
I turn towards you, guided by instinct,
My fingers are grazing your skin,
And sketching new constellations.

“What a beautiful moment,” I murmur,
And some sweet nothings,
Our breaths have mingled,
Heavy with unsaid desires.
“I love you too,” I confess,
With a tremulous voice,
“More than ever.
Always and forever.”

In the dark,
we are incandescent,
Magically entwined
Into a language of touch and thirst,
Each moment is scorching brighter:
‘Twas a torrid dance
Of two souls set ablaze.
