A New Dawn

A New Dawn

written by: Diana Menezes

Despair watched me weep,
While Distress knocked on my door.
Pain clung on to my heart,
And Loneliness sat still, feeling sore.
Hurt rubbed salt into my wounded spirit,
And Fear paid me a surprise visit.
But, still:
I left open a window
For Hope to climb in,
And breathed Trust
Into depths of my skin.
I threw a lasso over Faith
Wrapped it all around me,
And spread a blanket with
Healing flowers of serenity.
For a new dawn awaits me
With a spectrum of aureate dreams;
Fresh dew will kiss my woes,
And I will finally breathe
A new life in celestial streams.
