After a Late Night Rain

After a Late Night Rain

written by: Shih-Fang Wang

The wind has gone away
The sky has exhausted its tears
Though rainwater still puddles
Alongside the road
There are clouds lingering
And veiling the morning sun

The fallen leaves have settled
Providing hideouts for little bugs
Sparrows on the ground chatter noisily
While dining on a rich breakfast
Uncovered by the storm

Soon the sun will disperse the grey sky
To embrace the land
Trees will savor its golden rays
The flowers loaded with rain beads
Will sparkle like diamonds
To decorate the new rain-washed morning
