Moitreyee Raju was born in Kolkata, but the formative years of her life were spent in a small town called Telco Colony in Jamshedpur, India. Reading is her passion and she's been an avid reader from a very young age. Literary fiction has always been her first love, yet, she started by writing creative non fiction and had even hoped to continue with it. But she was drawn by the captivating thoughts that poetry lent her and gradually she immersed herself in the semantics of poetic linguistics. She loves the idea of melding nature with emotions and one can find a fine blend of it in her poetry. Her debut collection CALL OF THE HIBISCUS was released in the beginning of 2023. It is an anthology of 72 poems that brings together such thoughts and feelings, that are both mellow and mellifluous, an aspect of life that is quietly becoming a minority in the hustle and bustle of this rather extravagant world.
