I've enjoyed writing poems and short memoirs my entire life. As a teenager and later on in life, I found writing to be my go-to-place to relax when I was stressed. Later on in life, I decided to take a creative writing course to see if I could learn some writing skills. At this point in my life, I'm writing more and more of my life experiences and poetry. I feel that I'm improving as I take time to create more of my childhood memories and how poetry has touched my life. I graduated from City College and I was an elementary school teacher in the New York school system for 39 years with a Master's Degree in Education. I learned a great deal working with both the African-American and Latino cultures. I feel that working with youngsters in both Harlem and Washington Heights gave me a sensitivity to different cultures and ethnicities.
