Belittled

Belittled

written by: Karoline Lesande

Saddest eyes, no self-esteem,
shoulders down, lost in a dream.
No one knows what you’ve been through,
they wonder what ever happened to you.
Battles with dragons, you’ve slayed them all,
injured you bleed still standing tall.
Brave yet exhausted in need of rest,
like a migrating bird that needs a nest.
You’re Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war,
courage and justice is what you’re known for.
The battles continue, never seem to end,
again up in arms you attack and defend.
One day the fight’s over and the war is won,
belittled and scarred, you grew strong little one.
