On Folly Beach
written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker
On Folly Beach the
Waves roll in not unlike
When time first began.
A simple sensibility
Facing the winds upon
The horizon scanned.
For there’s no money
To be made here as
If that’s a mortal sin
As the world trudges
On this monetary
Addiction it’s in.
For I’d much rather be
Pointlessly a pauper
Cleansed and tan.
On Folly Beach the
Waves roll in not unlike
When time first began.
