Paul Newman, a poem by Chris Callard at Spillwords.com

Paul Newman

Paul Newman

written by: Chris Callard

I’ve got Paul Newman’s picture in my freezer.
He wasn’t even my favorite movie star.
That would be, maybe, Robert Mitchum,
but I wouldn’t be caught dead with a photo of
him on the mantel.
Loved “The Sting,”
which I’ll be reminded of now whenever I
search for something to defrost,
or until I bake that pizza of Paul’s.
Boy, to be famous never seems to end, frozen in time,
as it were.
