Still Kicking

written by: Tylia Flores

I’ve been through hell and back,

my whole life has been a journey in itself,

from being a 2-pound baby girl,

to where I’m now,

24 years later,

from being constantly labeled,

disabled handicap

I’m still going on and enjoying the simple things in my life,

like jamming out to country music till I can’t anymore,

Or going on vacation so I can’t anymore,

Seeing the world from my own point of view,

Not letting anything stop me from stomping on the barriers that come my way

Life is just simply good it’s my life

Tylia Flores is a 26-year-old born with cerebral palsy. Although her condition has affected her mobility, it has never affected her will and determination to make a difference in the world. Through her many life challenges and obstacles, she discovered her passion for writing. Tylia’s goal in life is to share her stories with the world. In doing so, she hopes to help others with disabilities realize that they, too, have the potential to make their dreams come true.
