Chaos in The Jungle
written by: Abdulreza Alvari
What a chaos, what a commotion.
The silence and peace of the jungle is lost.
The place is covered by noise,
screams, shouts and strange noise,
moans and groans.
All one can hear is only a deafening noise,
that is rising to the sky,
and they are inextricably intertwined all around.
The place is filled by noises of all kinds,
The screams and roar of the saw and the thud of the axe,
the groans and moans of the trees,
And the shrills of animals, and birds,
Losing their holes and nests,
and the cries and shouts of a devil woodcutter and his companions.
The saws roar, and they fall on the ground
The trees one by one
And the woodcutter and his companions shout with joy,
and sing the song of victory.
The old and decrepit woodcutter
Is constantly shouting and ordering
the men with axes on their shoulders, the sullen and ring-eared subordinates
At the height of a desire and a constant love
that he has in his chest, in his heart
The love of cutting off the heads of the standing trees
and cutting them into pieces.
“Cut, and chop the trees.”
And the sound echoes in the forest
And it echoes everywhere
“Cut, and chop the trees.”
Everyone can hear, and feel his nasty orders,
Which echoes all around
Together with the moans of the trees,
And the axe men’s cheers, and laughs
And the endless joy of the old woodcutter.
