Chasing Empty Winds

The
heart
core
of nature’s differences
shows you,
on the beaten path
of social media
we are losing ourselves
to empty winds
everything’s the same
a constant chase for
spirituality
salvations from the hands of men
peace that creates more wars
likes
follows
pictures
regimens
statuses
sex at the touch of a button replacing
the person.
Poetry of love and hate.
Love itself
chased for centuries yet
less understood today.
Drowning men and women
trying to redeem the
world
each other
races
cultures
     but
I have yet to see
a drowning
men
women
societies
redeem anyone.
Under the sun
none of this is new
we are
   still,
centuries later chasing the winds
of salvations made from
the broken wings of
kings and queens.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

To see rather than look
To hear rather than listen
To gain knowledge from centuries of chasing
empty winds offered by kings and queens with
burning wings.
