Daisies

Daisies

written by: Brittany Benko

They do not shout.
They whisper,
in white and gold syllables
that bend with the breeze,
rooted in earth
yet reaching for the sun
like it’s a promise
they fully believe in.

They arrive without ceremony,
no velvet petals, no scent
to turn heads.
Just a quiet confidence—
A field of soft stars
spilled across the grass.

Children crown them as if they know
these flowers have always worn
a halo of simplicity.

No pretense.
No drama.
Just the slow
unfolding of
something honest.

Daisies don’t mind
if you pass them by—
They’ll still bloom,
still nod at each other
like old friends
content in silence.
