Drawn Away

set aside from burning time
ground floors aglow
with the dormancy
of sparks
brightly longing
toward the beaten odds
to hone this solitude
into something more
to sculpt these muddled thoughts
into a reasonable presence
to forgo the minor utterance,
the polite decline, the sinister urge,
for the grace of silence and commitment
to no longer be a cog in the wheels of the world
but rather a ghost in the mist
a presence in the dark
or a shadow
drifting across the mind
of mountains.
